Welcome to the World War II Memorial on the National Mall, the memorial dedicated to the 16 million who served in the United States armed forces.

This massive memorial features 24 bronze bas-relief panels that represent each United States state and/or territory at the time of WWII. The panels ring an impressive pool with water shooting high in the air. There are 2 43-foot tall arches on opposite sides, the northern one representing victory in the Atlantic, the southern representing victory in the Pacific.

There is also the Freedom Wall, featuring 4,048 gold stars that representing the over 400,000 Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice during WWII.
