Seattle Art Museum
Welcome to the Seattle Art Museum, the local art institution that holds global art collections, temporary installations, and global special exhibits that work to 'bridge cultures and centuries'.
This art museum sits downtown, just a block away from Pike Place Market. It is acknowledged by the museum that the land it sits on was once the land of the Coast Salish People.
Inside the museum you will find over 25,000 works of art from antiquity to present, sharing global cultures and worldwide historical perspectives all throughout. See African Art, Ancient American Art, Decorative Arts and Design, Oceanic Art, and so much more within. If your group would like, opt-in to take a free public tour, of which you have the following options: A Closer Look: Highlight's From SAM's Collection, In Focus Gallery Talks, My Favorite Things, Special Exhibitions, and Art Beyond Sight.
Before you go check out the SAM Shop for books, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, carvings, and more, then head to TASTE for a coffee, snack, or meal. TASTE holds a convenient lounge, dining area, espresso bar, and of course, art wall.
