Prospect Point
Welcome to Prospect Point State Park, the best place to observe all three of the Niagara Falls at once with unobstructed views, immersive experiences, and informative tours! Prospect Point is a part of the much larger Niagara Falls State Park, known to be America’s oldest State Park, established in 1885. Within this section of the park, just east of the Falls, you can watch the upper Niagara River Rapids approaching the brink. From there, watch as the river drops 50 feet in elevation for a half mile before reaching the crest of the American Falls. Stand within inches of the powerful waterfall, with Horseshoe Falls as your backdrop, or catch the absolute best-unobstructed views of all three falls at once from the top of the Prospect Point Observation Tower.
The Prospect Point Observation Tower is the 282-foot tall structure that was built in 1961, since then providing guests with the only panoramic view of all three Niagara Falls from one perfect spot. This amazing piece of architecture extends out dramatically over the Niagara Gorge and also provides a great area to bird watch! Here near the falls, you can spot peregrine falcons, bald eagles, and many different species of gulls, the entire region considered an Audubon Important Bird Area. Below the tower, you can get a multi-sensory view at the base of the Gorge, the stairs to the Crow’s Nest providing you with the pleasantly loud sounds and the misty spray of the falls just feet away from you! You can also choose to take the very popular Maid of Mist Cruise and Tour from the base of the Observation Tower, making this stop well worth it for both you and your entire group.
