Powell Gardens
Welcome to Kansas City's Powell Gardens, the highly beloved 970-acre botanical garden space that holds 'breathtaking display gardens, interesting architecture, a nature trail, and a year-round calendar of special events and classes for the entire family'.
This spot is known for its spectacular displays of native Missouri plantings, as well as for the Heartland Harvest Garden, the nation's largest 'edible landscape'. This kid-friendly food farm area isn't the only outstanding thing you will see, though, the onsite conservatory really sparking attention with its iconic glass dome and design. The interior displays change about 6 times a year in, one of the public's favorite changes being in August when it transforms into a butterfly house.
