The Port of LA is a leader in environmental initiatives and home to diverse recreational and educational facilities, making it an excellent place to take students to learn more about international trade, sustainable trade and environmental awareness, and local Los Angeles history.
Visiting student groups can 'expand their knowledge of the world around them and learn about the history and activities at the LA Harbor' by taking the free 1-hour boat tour offered by the port, a really immersive way to show them the importance of this port and trade ports in general.
Teachers can easily request resource materials and information regarding local history, international trade, and environmental awareness before their trip, expanding their educational opportunity with the port. The port only accepts 4th grade and above for the 1-hour tour, which will take place aboard a 90-foot motor yacht that fits 140 passengers.
