Lowry Park Zoo
Titled as the "More-to-do Zoo," Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo is ranked as one of the best and most visited zoos in the southeastern United States for its unique interactive exhibits, beautiful enclosures filled with happy, well-cared-for animals, and a history of incredible animal care. With a mission to connect humans with the "living earth," the Lowry Park Zoo strives to be the best at what they do and to never cease learning about the world we live in and how to care for the animals that call it home.
Animals, both native and exotic, endangered and rare, fill the enclosures and wow the minds of all who visit the park. See everything from the endangered Florida panther to Bornean orangutans, Indian gharials to African elephants. Enter through the zoo's main gates and travel to Primate World to see intelligent chimpanzees, funny squirrel monkeys, and the beautiful manes of the golden lion tamarins. Head to the Asian Gardens exhibit to meet clouded leopards, tapirs, and a fabulously colorful array of exotic birds before moving on to Safari Africa and the animals of the savanna. All of your favorites from the African continent plus more await you from African penguins to white rhinos, giraffes, zebras, impalas, and several species of tortoises among others. Hop from continent to continent as you explore the zoo and its many creatures.
Devoted to bringing people and animals together through appreciation and education, the Lowry Park Zoo performs educational programs for groups of all ages. Depending on the group age, the zoo offers Zoo School for up-close learning with small children, youth programs, teen programs, and more. Up-close encounters are always offered at the zoo no matter your age. Feed a giraffe, meet a tortoise, ride through the zoo on one of their amazing amusement park rides, or take a behind the scenes tour. There's no limit to your fun at the Lowry Park Zoo!
