Heartland of America Park
For a nice change of pace and an excuse to stretch those legs during your Omaha outing be sure to stop at the Heartland of America Park. This 31-acre public park runs right through the heart of Omaha, sitting along the Missouri River, and provides gorgeous views and opportunities for outdoor recreation.
At this 'urban oasis highlighting a man-made lake,' you will probably first notice the spectacular 320-foot fountain that features nightly light shows during the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. Take a walk along the lakeside path as you watch the show in awe, happening from 8 pm to 11 pm nightly. You will also be able to enjoy a massive green space, food trucks, a seasonal market, a tiered botanical garden, and a skating ribbon that is concrete in the summer, ice in the winter.
Take the pedestrian bridge to visit the nearby Lewis and Clark Landing while here, take a gondola ride with Heartland Gondolas, or visit the Old Market District right across the street. There is certainly plenty to do here at the locally beloved Heartland of America Park!
