Gatlinburg Mountain Mall
Gatlinburg
Gatlinburg's premier indoor shopping center offers a great opportunity for some serious retail therapy. The Gatlinburg Mountain Mall, located in downtown Gatlinburg, across from Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, holds a vast variety of shops each with their own unique local theme. Find almost anything you want such as homemade candy, foods, crafts, jewelry, music, movies, books, sports collectibles, toys, and much more! One of the best things about the Gatlinburg Mountain Mall is that it is close to almost every attraction, within walking distance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and Dollywood, as well as Ripley’s attractions and Ober.
Inside, enjoy the decor of the whiskey barrel trash cans from Jack Daniels and sounds of Appalachian mountain music performed by locals, the perfect introduction to a Smoky Mountain shopping haven. There are two indoor water fountains, one over 30 feet tall, aside from all the authentic "mountain folk paraphernalia" such as millstones, moonshine stills, and full-size bear traps. The entire center visibly celebrates the rich history of the city of Gatlinburg and the Ogle family, who owned and managed the mall. The halls are "sprinkled with historical displays featuring now and then photos of the town," including pictures of Ogle’s General Store in 1850 and even a 1934 Ford Model A truck on display.
Be sure to wear your best walking shoes and get ready for what seems like miles of fun shopping at some of the very best shops including Aunt Mahalia's Candies and Lavi’s Jewelry, both featuring fine local products. See the Cowboy Way for local apparel, Pepper Place for hot and spicy produce, Phoenix Candles or Cruising the Past for great gifts, and more!
