Chicago Blues Experience
Chicago is the birthplace of modern blues, a pure American art form that has had a profound influence on nearly every style of music that followed.
Opening in the spring of 2019, the Chicago Blues Experience is sure to be an instant hit, a world-class cultural attraction featuring state of the art interactive technology exploring the history and culture from which the blues emerged.
Blues music came to Chicago during the Great Migration, quickly taking hold on the city and 'reflecting the energy and struggle of an urban audience'. The museum works to celebrate this movement, as well as the artists who started and continue to carry on the musical traditions.
The entire experience will be an 'eye-opening, immersive journey into the past, present, and future of the blues', with several different exhibits, memorabilia, an onsite eatery, and even a live music venue. The experience is meant to give guests an educational 'gateway that inspires and cultivates creativity, critical thinking, and self-exploration' through the blues and similar genres, making it an excellent stop for your student group!
