Cano Island
This island is famous for one thing: snorkeling! Considered to be the best, or in some others’ opinion the second best, spot in Costa Rica to scuba dive or snorkel, Cano Island is a definite must-stop for your group during your tropical travels. Isla Del Cano, or more formally known as the Reserva Biologica Isla Del Cano, is an island within the Bahia de Corcovado, a popular island on the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica. This spot is just 10 miles west of Punta Llorona on the Peninsula de Osa, right near Violines Island.
Cano Island will present your group with the largest concentration of 'coral-building organisms' along the Pacific side of the country, this entire marine biology reserve a true tropical paradise for divers and curious swimmers alike. Explore the expansive coral reefs within the crystal clear waters as you swim with the turtles, dolphins, manta rays, and parrot and puffer fish. There are local tour companies such as Bahia Aventuras that offer half or full day boat tours to really show guests all they can around the waters, the guides pointing out all the exciting points along the way so you don't miss a thing.
If you are more in the mood for some beachside relaxation you can plant it in the white sand and palm tree scattered coastline and enjoy your gorgeous surroundings, you may even see a Ridley Sea Turtle come up to shore to lay their eggs!
