Belle of Louisville
The Belle of Louisville is a popular riverside attraction of both historical and entertainment value set within the Louisville Waterfront area, a true can't-miss stop during your trip.
The Belle of Louisville, or 'Steamer Belle', is officially the oldest Mississippi River-style Steamboat in operation in America, allowing your group a sort of blast from the past living history experience once onboard. The Belle is also the only one of it's kind still operating that was built during the actual steamboat era and built as a packet (freight) boat. You will get to learn how steamboat transportation revolutionized Louisville in its time, as well as America overall. Since 1963 over 7 million people have taken a cruise aboard the Belle, though it was built in 1914, it's longstanding history making it a National Historic Landmark as well.
Your group will have a couple different tour choices depending on what time of year you come visit during, but the original Sightseeing or Sightseeing and Lunch cruise options are always our favorites for student groups.
*The boat can fit 650 at capacity, 180 dining. There is a stage, dance floor, concession options, and climate controlled indoor seating areas onboard.
