Find a hidden treasure in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Known for it's amazing geothermal features throughout the city. The city is located in the Ouachita Mountains and is set among several geologically natural hot springs for which the city is named. The hot spring water has been popularly believed for centuries to possess medicinal properties, and was a subject of legend among several different Native American tribes from or travelling through the area.
In 1832, the city gained federal protection and was developed into a successful spa town. The city has been home to Major League Baseball spring training, 1920's era speakeasies and gangsters such as Al Capone, popular horse racing at Oaklawn Park, the Army and Navy Hospital, and 42nd President Bill Clinton for a period of time!
