Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame
Welcome to Arkansas’ very own Sports Hall of Fame, the premier sports-history-dedicated center that was established in 1958. This museum serves as a fulfillment of a dream and recollection of over four decades of highly successful induction ceremonies honoring the athletic greats of Arkansas. This particular hall of fame started with a statement, a group of 25 regional businessmen who said: "We owe something to the Arkansas people who have gone to the top of their career but are now forgotten." Out of these ideas we now have a building dedicated to the history of statewide sports and with a focus on current sports activities.
Inside this museum, which is located on the west end of the Verizon Arena in northern Little Rock, your group will see several different showcases on the men, women, and teams from a variety of sports ranging from football to fishing. There are inductees here from each of the 78 counties in Arkansas! The major sports highlighted are football, baseball, and basketball, but you will also see golf, tennis, and Olympics information. The highly interactive exhibits appeal to youth and feature athletes such as Pat Summerall, Cliff Harris, Pat Day, and Mark Martin.
