American Stories Walking Tour
American Stories Historic Walking Tours will provide your group with one of the most popular local walking tours, 'Memories of Battle' tour. This insightful trek along the streets of the historic district brings to life the true stories of the 1863 civilians as they are surrounded by battle.
The tour guides dress in period attire, allowing your group to get that much closer to the past. The tour will take you 6-8 blocks around the district, lasting a total of about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Learn about daily life in the town, the impact of the infamous battle on local lives, and interesting tidbits about families and businesses of the past. During the evening you even get an added ambiance bonus of doing the entire tour by candlelight.
These dynamic tours are also accompanied by a variety of custom tours and seated programs intended to 'delight and inform'. Try the Civil War Fact or Fiction seated program, filled with fun 'true or false' Civil War trivia or them design a program to meet your group’s unique needs.
Reservations are required, and while the tours are offered from 10 am to 8 pm during the months of June, July, and August, note that they are only offered from 5 pm to 8 pm the rest of the year. It should also be noted that groups will have options for bus tours as well.
