Selena Sites
Queen of Tejano Music Selena Quintanilla Perez had an undeniably huge impact on the music industry, as well as the local music scene in Texas, this gorgeous icon once calling Corpus Christi her home.
While visiting Corpus Christi your group can get an intimate Selena experience by visiting the Selena Museum, Selena Memorial, and Selena Gravesite, all excellent chances to learn more about the woman behind the music.
Start out at the Selena Museum, the intimate memorial for Selena fans that showcases the singer's awards and various memorabilia. The museum was created by her family, and you will actually have quite a good chance of seeing Selena's sister and/or father there during your visit. The museum features stage costumes and personal memorabilia such as her famous red Porsche and Big Bertha tour bus. There is also an expansive gift shop on-site to pick up any Selena related souvenirs you may want.
Next head to the Selena Memorial, otherwise known as Mirador De La Flor (Overlook of the Flower). This statue celebrates her life and local impact and sits at the corner of Peoples Street and Shoreline Boulevard. It was erected in 1997 and sees around 30,000 visitors each year.
End your Selena journey at her final resting spot inside the Seaside Memorial Park. You can visit her headstone, engraved with her image, and the nearby black bench with her iconic signature in white, these things located at the southeast corner of the park.
