Just about 20 miles north of Greater Fort Lauderdale you will find a sleepy seaside village by the name of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, or LBTS for short. This Florida city is probably most well-known for one thing; FISHING.
One of the main attractions to fishermen visiting LBTS, or Fort Lauderdale in general, is Anglin's Fishing Pier, the longest pier in South Florida. This pier is open 24/7 for fishing and also features a lively beach cafe with classic seaside eats and occasional live music in the evenings.
Anglin's Fishing Pier first opened in 1963, an important part of the city since then. It gives a 'unique and pleasurable experience for both the fisherman and sightseer', allowing easy access to both activities. Rent a rod and buy bait here at the tackle shop or bring your own, with two different types of fishing available; sand and reef 'rock' fishing. Many people have luck catching pompano, mackerel, bonefish, ladyfish, jacks, snook, and more right off the pier!
