Magoffin Home State Historic Site
Welcome to the Magoffin Home State Historic Site, the adobe territorial home that once belonged to a prominent pioneering family who did quite a bit for and around their community.
First built in 1875, this home belonged to Joseph Magoffin and his family, the Magoffin descendants actually living in this home for over 100 years. The home is now a museum open for house and garden tours for curious guests. The museum 'explores the stories of a multicultural family who actively participated in the United States expansion settlement, military service, trade on the Sante Fe-Chihuahua Trail, Civil War turmoil, and various United States/Mexican relations'.
During your visit, your group will be able to tour the interior of the home and learn about the history and heritage of the southwest borderlands through the lives of the prominent El Paso family. See authentic art and antique furniture on display, different rooms portraying different time periods with their decor. You can also enjoy the gardens outside and perhaps have a picnic under the trees.
Note there are snacks for sale within the Visitor Center Museum Store, and also note that this historic site is closed on Mondays.
