Our purpose is to create a safe space for visitors to explore the fundamental rights of all human beings so that they leave inspired and empowered to join the ongoing dialogue about human rights in their communities.

Welcome to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, a cultural institution in Atlanta that is dedicated to the achievements of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States, and also more generally throughout the world.
First established in 2014, this museum presents artifacts, art, and photos from the Civil Rights era. Through their collection of permanent and temporary exhibits they are able to enlighten guests in several different ways about the historic Civil Rights Movement, and about your own undeniable human rights today.
There are two permanent exhibits, entitled The American Civil Rights Movement and The Global Human Rights Movement, as well as a couple of temporary exhibits at any given time. For example, currently, you can see the temporary exhibit Her Truth, Her Power, and the rotating exhibit the Morehouse College Martin Luther King, Jr. Collection. The latter exhibit is located in the Voice to the Voiceless Gallery and is the only place in the world to see Dr. King's papers and personal effects on rotation in a public space. The Voice to the Voiceless Gallery also has the permanent installation of Fragments, a metal structure replicating Dr. King's handwriting on scraps of paper!
