Day 3 You'll See:
You've worked hard to make it to graduation day. Don't you think you deserve to play hard, too? Welcome to Los Angeles...
Griffith Observatory and Hollywood Sign - The largest municipal park in Los Angeles and one of the largest in the country, Griffith Park offers a beautiful and peaceful respite from the bustling city. Covering a stunning 4,310 acres in the Santa Monica Mountains in the Los Feliz neighborhood, Griffith Park gained its origins in the annals of L.A. history. Among the beautiful greenery and water features, you can find an abundance of attractions in Griffith Park that make for perfect vacation outings. The Griffith Observatory is located at the top of the tallest peak in the area and is open during regular visitors hours to explore the facility, see shows at the planetarium, and get some of the greatest views possible of the iconic Hollywood Sign on Mount Lee. There are dozens of natural hiking and biking trails as well as sites for group gatherings here, as well!
Hollywood and Highland - What better way to end your L.A night than with a visit to Hollywood and Highland, the 387,000 square foot retail space that contains numerous local, regional, and international shops, eateries, and nightclubs. Here you and your group can sightsee along Hollywood Boulevard, go bowling, or even catch a movie at any of the local cinemas. This entire area is a landmark district for California, complete with views of the Hollywood sign, the iconic Hollywood handprints, the Hollywood Wax Museum, and so much more. Sightsee, eat, shop, and take in a movie while here, a really fun way to unwind for the night and get to know L.A and Hollywood even better!
Grimaldi’s L.A - We know you’re going to be hungry after all that sightseeing, so we think this is a great time to stop at Grimaldi’s, the Brooklyn classic that is delighting taste buds all the way on the West Coast! A visit to Grimaldi's is like getting the taste of two major cities in one trip, the delicious coal-fired brick oven pies with over 100 years of Brooklyn experience giving you a bite of New York, and the always-fresh ingredients, handmade mozzarella, and house-made sauce and dough giving you a new crisp taste of California. You can find these crisp crusts and perfectly baked calzones on El Segundo here in L.A, the eatery working well with larger groups looking for a late-night snack. Once you have one bite of the ricotta and meatballs on your perfectly crispy pizza it will be really easy to see why this restaurant was one of Frank Sinatra’s favorites!
Dearly Departed Tours - Tonight you and your group will get a real thrill as you head to Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood and get a tour from ‘Hollywood’s authority celebrity death source’ since 1994, Scott Michaels. Any of his many tours will allow you to explore various cases involving celebrity deaths or Hollywood murders, the tour company as a whole receiving constant 5-star ratings plus TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence. No wonder the E Show, Anthony Bourdain, Ghost Adventures, Hollywood Death Trip, and American Horror Story have all featured or mentioned this sinister tour line! On any tour with this multimedia bus tour, you will hear 911 calls, recorded audio, and see real-life crime scene photos, each element adding in something more unearthly about the case at hand. We like to suggest the Horror Film Location Tour, showcasing the spots where such gruesome scenes were filmed from movies such as Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Nightmare on Elm Street, Zombieland, and Scream 2. Get ready to get scared!
OUE Skyspace - If you are in L.A and you are looking for a great thrill or a great (maybe the greatest) view, you need to head over to OUE Skyspace! OUE Skyspace is the incomparable viewing experience located at the top of the iconic U.S Bank Tower, about 1,000 feet above downtown L.A. This attraction is full of entertainment and excitement, with unobstructed 360-degree views of the city, several interactive digital features, and even the ultimate thrill known as the Skyslide. See everything in L.A from Dodger Stadium to Griffith Hall, the Hollywood Sign to Santa Monica Pier. You and your group will literally be able to see the San Gabriel Mountains to the Pacific Ocean! Once at the top of the Overseas Union Enterprise building, you can also take a quick (and we mean quick!) ride down the Skyslide, the super thrilling 45-foot long outdoor glass slide that connects the 70th Floor to the East Observation Terrace. Talk about adventure!
Universal Hollywood - Universal Studios is one of the world’s largest filming and production studios, having given us movies like E.T., Transformers, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, and Jaws to name a few. This incredible theme park lets you experience the magic of movies from the inside with behind-the-scenes tours, themed rides, 3D adventures, and by meeting characters. With the prestige of being one of Hollywood’s largest studios comes the most extensive movie and TV based theme park. Adults and young adults alike in your group will love the shows, shopping, dining, and nightlife of CityWalk. Here you can see a show at 5 Towers, the amazing concert venue with state-of-the-art technology, or at the 19 screen theater and IMAX. Eat until your buckle bursts at Buca di Beppo Italian restaurant, Wolfgang Puck Bistro, Wasabi at CityWalk, or even Ben and Jerry’s and then peruse the racks of apparel and souvenirs at Things From Another World before you go!
Manhattan Beach - On a hot day in California, you may find the beach calling your name. When that happens, look to Manhattan Beach, a small beach-front community just outside of Los Angeles proper. Everyone in your group will love cooling off and have fun sunbathing on the white sands and swimming in the brilliant blue waters of the Pacific ocean. This public beach is the perfect attraction for groups large and small. Swim, surf, splash your neighbors, or snorkel for a chance to see some elusive wildlife. Play volleyball, build a sandcastle, bring some playing cards along to play poker in the sun, or just lay back and enjoy the nice day with your groupmates. Manhattan Beach not only has one of the most beautiful beaches in Los Angeles but the small town also offers visitors the Roundhouse Marine Lab and Aquarium, the kid-friendly entertainment AdventurePlex, Sand Dune Park, and a myriad of shops, events, and dining options.
Runyon Canyon Park - Runyon Canyon Park is the 160-acre gorgeous ‘urban wilderness’ mid-Los Angeles, just blocks away from Hollywood Boulevard. This gorgeous inner-city park will provide your group with unbelievable city views, landmark hiking trails, and great people-watching opportunities. Located at the east end of the Santa Monica Mountains, this park is run by the Parks and Recreation Department of Los Angeles and was first acquired in 1983, giving it quite the local history. You will see rare exotic wild chaparral here, as well as views of the Hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory, and even the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island on clear days! There are three different entrances to get here, several different hiking trails, a wide fire road, and even a leash-free dog park! Be sure to bring a camera to get your iconic Hollywood Sign photo while here!
iFly L.A - Next iFly L.A is here to catch you with their wildly popular indoor skydiving facility, your last, but a really exciting adventure in Cali! Experience the feeling of freefall without the actual danger of jumping out of an airplane in iFly's 1000 hp wind tunnel which creates a cushion of air on which you float the same as you would in traditional skydiving. No experience is necessary, anyone can enter and skydive in iFly's many programs from youngsters as little as three years old to advanced seniors 103 years young. The low-risk facility makes sure that your skydiving experience is a memory maker without the fear of falling to the earth below. Fly like a superhero, flip like an acrobat, and soar above the ground of the flight chamber like a pro!
