Every Presidential Election year our nation’s capital holds a grand Presidential Inaugural Parade, a large vivacious celebration of the national welcoming of the new commander in chief that includes several high school, college, and military professional marching bands. Bands must be formally invited to perform after application and careful consideration, but if they are the entire experience will undoubtedly become one that they'll never forget. Besides yourselves and the other marching bands involved, the parade also consists of such entries as various cultural groups, dance groups, military units, and state delegations.
The Parade is preceded by the swearing-in ceremony, which takes place earlier that day on Capitol Hill. That being said, the route you will need to make it to afterwards follows Pennsylvania Avenue, from 4th Street to 15th Street. The route turns north on 15th and then continues past the White House reviewing stand, the entire event watched by thousands on the sideline, plus televised on all major networks. This parade takes place on January 20th during election years, and is a truly unforgettable, history changing moment you and your marching band won’t want to miss. Not only will you get to see the all the Presidential going-on's throughout the day, but you will also be able to participate in various hotel inaugural balls and tour company cruises during the evening, and use the next day to sight-see some of our nation’s most important and iconic landmarks.
